Hypogeusia

Two hours later
you may well wonder
what aftertaste hangs there


or worry that you might
have become hypogeutic
for the bittersweet

But I contemplate on the possibility
that all this amnesia
is suppressed haptic memory

For three little words
linger in my mouth
Hesitant to leave

And even if they did
your dyslexic tongue
will not be able to read.

*hypogeusia -- lessened ability to taste
